10 Things that I love About Bethlehem, PA

When you’re thinking about Moving to the Lehigh Valley, you may consider Bethlehem!

Hi Everybody!  I want to tell you about the ten things that I love about Bethlehem.  If you’re thinking about moving here, it’s a great place to live!

#10-  It’s close to Philadelphia which is about an hour and a half away.  New York City is almost two hours away.  And the Poconos where we can go skiing and have fun in the mountains is just about forty-five minutes north of here. But still there are lots of rural spaces all around town.

#9 – It’s a great place to live with a good cost of living and plentiful jobs

#8 – You can’t miss the restaurant scene and the beer scene here in Bethlehem.

#7 – there is lots of music and the arts scene is really cool

#6 – Because of the universities and colleges there is a great academic vibe throughout town

#5 – There is always fun places to go and exercise outside

#4 – Main Street!  Spending the day on Main Street in Bethlehem is always a great pastime.  It’s fun to visit all of the shops, enjoy really wonderful food in fabulous restaurants and just watch the world go by

#3 – Bethlehem is filled with gorgeous architecture

#2 – The Historic District as well as the City’s history cannot be beat

#1 –  We love our festivals in the summertime!

Bury St Joseph to Sell Your Home!

saint JosephTo get your house sold quickly…. legend says to bury Saint Joseph in your front yard. Praying the Saint Joseph Prayer after burying the statue is said to always bring a fast offer for your property.  Saint Joseph was the father of Jesus and the husband of Mary.  Because Saint Joseph is the patron saint of home and family; and if you pray to him for help when you’re selling your property, it is said to help get your property sell quicker. Remember to bury Saint Joseph correctly and in the property place.  A mistake in the placement of Saint Joseph could result in you helping to sell your neighbor’s house.  You don’t want your neighbor’s house selling before you sell your own, do you?
  • Bury St. Joseph in the backyard flower beds
  • Bury St. Joseph sideways, with the hands of the statue pointing towards the house to direct people to the house
  • Bury the statue upside down 3 feet away from the house
  • Bury the statue facing away from the house
  • Bury a statue of St. Joseph 12″ into the ground, upside down, right next to the For Sale sign on the lawn.
  • Bury the statue 12 inches down so that it won’t be easy to get to the top but it won’t be too difficult either.
  • Burying a statue of St. Joseph face down right next to the For Sale sign and pray to St. Joseph.
How to bury St. Joseph:
  • Dig a hole in the ground that is large enough to bury St. Joseph vertically.
  • Place the statue upside down in the ground.
  • Make sure that the statue is facing towards the home in its upside down position.
  • Pray the St. Joseph Novena for nine consecutive days.
  • Once your home is sold, remove the statue from the ground….and be sure to Display the statue in a place of honor in your new home!
The St. Joseph Prayer: In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen Come to my aid, Oh God.  Oh Lord, make haste to help me. Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of all good gifts, I come before you to honor you in your saints and ask their help in my many needs. You promised those who ask, would receive, those who seek, would find, those who knock, would have doors opened to them. Hear the prayers of your church, grant my requests, and pardon my sins.  Amen. St. Joseph, just and true, with a father’s care you raised the child Jesus, and with a husband’s love, you shared your life with Mary, his mother. I entrust myself to your care and place in your hands this request of mine…. In quiet Nazareth, long ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to your heart and you followed God’s will with wonderful faith. In the quiet of my days, and in the hard choices I must make, help me follow the Spirit’s guidance and believe when I cannot see. Day 1 – Oh God, guide of those who listen and helper of those who hear your voice, speak to me, as you did to St. Joseph, and help me accomplish the things you give me to do. Day 2 – Oh God, you love your people and bless the ordinary lives we quietly live. As you blessed St. Joseph, bless what I do, however hidden and simple it may be , and let all I do be done with love. Day 3 – Oh God, ever faithful, you remember us always and in time reveal your blessings.  Help me trust in you, as St. Joseph faithfully trusted, and never let me lose faith in teh wonderful gifts you promise me. Day 4 – God of families, bless the family that is mine.  Keep us safe from harm, and never let evil come between us.  Let peace remain in our hearts. Day 5 – Oh God, who loves children, be kind to our children today.  Give them eyes of faith for seeing far, a loving heart for welcoming life, and a place always at your side. Day 6 – God of our heavenly home, bless our home on earth.  Let the spirit of Mary and Joseph rest at our table, shape our words and actions, and bring blessing to our children. Day 7 – God, our Father, give your fatherly spirit to those who are fathers now.  Like Joseph, give them hearts of devoted love for their wives and children and strength for forgiveness and patience. Day 8 – Give shelter, Oh God, to those who need it, and bring together families divided.  Give us enough to eat, and decent work to earn our bread.  Care for us, Oh God! Day 9 – Bless all families, Oh Lord especially those in need.  Remembering the life of your Son, we pray for the poor, for those who lack a good home, for those in exile.  Grant them a protector like Joseph, Oh God. To conclude this novena, say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be to God. Burying St Joseph to sell your home should be easy.  Several other suggestions for the placement of St. Joseph are:
