Welcome to Bethlehem!
Are you looking for
Bethlehem, PA? Welcome, you’ve found it!
Our fine city is located in the northeast quadrant of the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. Bethlehem is at the crossroads of two major cities; we are approximately 1.5 hours north of
Philadelphia, PA and approximately 1.75 hours west of
New York City, NY. Bethlehem is also nestled approximately 10 miles west of
Easton, PA and approximately 10 miles east of
Allentown, PA. Each city is pretty much in a straight line next to one another following the
Lehigh River valley.
Approximately 75,000 people call Bethlehem city home. While 800,000 people call the Lehigh Valley home. And approximately 116,000 people use a Bethlehem zip code. Bethlehem is also spreads its borders over parts of two counties, Northampton County and Lehigh County. There are a few townships included in the Bethlehem address. One townships is Bethlehem Township which lies to the east of the city. Another is Hanover Township to the north and west.
Bethlehem a great place to call home because it is so close to large cities yet far enough away to have its own personality. There are things to see and do here. The three cities of Bethlehem, Easton and Allentown are urban enough to find good dining, entertainment and shopping. However if you drive just a few minutes out of any of the towns you will find suburbia and lots of beautiful lush green rural countryside.
Colleges and Universities
Within the city limits are two fine schools of higher learning.
Lehigh University is located on the south side of Bethlehem while
Moravian College is located downtown and throughout the city.
Northampton Community College is to the north of Bethlehem in Bethlehem Township. And beyond the borders of the city are other fine universities & community colleges like
Lafayette College, DeSales University,
Lehigh Carbon Community College,
Penn State University,
Cedar Crest College, Muhlenburg College and
Kutztown University just to name few.
Shopping and Entertainment
Entertainment is not far from your doorstep. The Downtown centers of each city, Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton offer wonderful restaurants and entertainment. A few of the highlights are all of the new restaurants in Allentown on Hamilton Boulevard along with the
PPL Center, home of the
Lehigh Valley Phantoms ice hockey team. Downtown Bethlehem has always been known for the fine food establishments to be found on Main Street. And not far from Main Street is The
SteelStacks and
ArtsQuest Center where
Musikfest can be enjoyed along with many other free music venues. And Third & Ferry Streets in Easton are the home addresses for their fine restaurants.
